I want to capture an exact point of time using static materials. We are constantly moving through micro and macro experiences and will never and can never stop time or stop a moment to study it in a fixed state. I want to sculpt a fraction of reality with a focus on caring about this idea of a point in space and time. Using projection, wood, and paint as a vessel to hold a modicum amount of time, I give power to my objects to hold the moment within. Similar to painting a still life, I capture a frozen frame using abstract shapes and color merely as an essence of what is happening in the moving image. The viewer feels relief and satisfaction as painted shapes and colors transceive the projected image.
